The Case Study Houses were experiments in residential architecture in Southern California, sponsored by Arts & Architecture magazine, which commissioned leading architects and designers of the time.

The Ray & Charles Eames couple were the first to create a pilot project: what would later become the Eames House. Actually, its success was such that they both moved in and established their home and studio there!
