The Case Study Houses were experiments in Southern California residential architecture sponsored by Arts & Architecture magazine, which commissioned major architects and designers of the day.

The Ray & Charles Eames couple were the first ones to create a pilot project: what would later become the Eames House. Actually, its success was so, that they both moved in and established in it their home and studio!
